Public Talk: "Reform and the Youth of the Revolution: Islam and the Middle East Today"

Prof. Ramadan will address the significant role of youth as a positive driving force for change in the Middle East in relation to this project on radical reform and Islam. He will also address the potential futures of the revolutions and reforms currently taking place in the Middle East, as well as the role of religio-political groups in them.Tariq Ramadan is a Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at the Oxford University (Oriental Institute, St. Antony's College). He also teaches at the Oxford Faculty of Theology. He is a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, (Qatar), a Senior Research Fellow at Doshisha University (Kyoto, Japan) and a Visiting Professor of Philosophy at Mundiapolis University (Morocco).Tariq Ramadan holds an MA in Philosophy and French literature and PhD in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Geneva.Professor Ramadan will be signing his books at this event.
