Calendars, Currencies, and Cures: Math and Science Lessons from the Middle East and Latin America

This workshop featured four speakers: one on Mayan astronomy and science in the ancient Americas, one on currency and its political symbolism within the Middle East, and one on Arab star lore. There was a working lunch in which teachers worked in groups and discussed classroom applications of the material.
