Arizona in Turkey

The Arizona in Turkey program is an eight-week summer study abroad program based in Istanbul. Please note it is cancelled for summer 2024. Stay tuned for future summers.  Straddling the Bosporus Strait and located on both the European and Asian continents, Istanbul is Turkey’s largest city. In addition to language coursework, students participate in several academic excursions to regional sites. Weekly activities and language partners help students integrate culture and language learning.

There will be an orientation in Istanbul, after which students begin their Turkish classes. In addition to the coursework, students participate in several academic excursions to regional sites. One of the excursions may include Izmir. Izmir is located on the Aegean coast, it is the third largest city in Turkey boasting a population of approximately three million.

Students can earn University of Arizona credit for Turkish language coursework.
