Speakers for Classrooms and Community Groups

Would your class or community group like to have a VIRTUAL guest speaker address issues related to the Middle East? When possible, CMES will arrange for a graduate student, UA faculty member, or a visiting scholar (at no charge) to give a guest lecture to K-12 and post-secondary classes, or community groups. In particular, we have Outreach Scholars, University of Arizona students from Iran, Iraq, Jordan Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, who would be happy to speak with your group about life in their country..

Possible topics include but are not limited to:

  • Country specific (i.e. Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, etc.)
  • Islam and religions of the region
  • Politics
  • Conflict and Resolution
  • Holidays (religious and state)
  • Health care
  • Education
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Gender/women's issues

If you would like to schedule a speaker about one of these or a related topic, please fill out this short form and send it to adeli@arizona.edu.
