Stolen Water sheds light on water theft in Jordan, exploring why and how people steal water. Also taking a peek at the Syrian refugee crisis, and how this has taken a toll on the country's water supply.


Laila Khan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Moving Image at King's College London, followed by an internship with Warner Bros where she worked as a Production Assistant on Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. She set up her own production company called Brainworks Picture Company. Her short 6 Cup Chai was screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner 2014 and won an award for Best Values at the 40th edition of the Filmets Badalona Film Festival in Spain. The film was also screened on some major airlines such as British Airways, Lufthansa and Royal Jordanian. After 6 Cup Chai, Laila made a documentary about water theft in Jordan in collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Water & Irrigation and the Jordanian National Police (JNP). She is now producing and directing a feature film set in rural Egypt
