The Invisibility Bargain (Online Event!)

Date:

Fri, 04/24/2020 - 1:00pm

On February 24th at one P.M., Jeffrey Pugh will be giving a talk on "The Invisibility Bargain." Pugh will argue that an "invisibility bargain" constrains migrants' identities and political participation, demanding their economic contributions plus political and social invisibility in exchange for tolerance of their presence in the host country. Pugh is an assistant professor in the Department of Conflict Resolution, Human Security and Global Governance at the University of Massachusetts Boston and the executive director of the Center for Mediation, Peace, and Resolution of Conflict.
