Middle Eastern Young Adult Science Fiction
When
Join us for an online book club exploring the novel I Want Golden Eyes, a Young Adult science-fiction novel newly published in translation from Arabic. Attendees will enjoy a conversation with author Maria Dadouch, followed by a short workshop for educators led by Danielle Harms, designer of an online open-source English Language Arts curriculum based on the book for teachers of grades 8-10. All will receive a digital copy of the book upon registering, and teachers who participate will be mailed a complementary physical copy after the event. While this program is intended for teachers, all are welcome, including the book-loving public!

Bios:
Maria Dadouch is a Syrian novelist, screenwriter, and children’s book author. She is the author of The Planet of Uncertainties, I Want Golden Eyes, The Heart is Behind the Rib, and The Mystery of the Glass Ball, which won the prestigious Sheikh Zayad award.
Danielle Harms teaches high school English in Watertown, South Dakota and constantly works to introduce her students to diverse voices and cultures.
