Grant budgets are often intimidating, especially for young graduate students and scholars. This session aims to demystify the daunting project of writing a budget to accompany a grant proposal. Dr. Anne Betteridge, CMES Director, will give an introduction to this budget process. Dr. Julie Ellison-Speight, CMES Asst. Director, will focus on budget notes and provide a few successful examples shared by graduate students further along in their careers. Zoe Kosoff, PhD student in MENAS and MA, will give a brief presentation of her successful grant budgets with budget notes. A brief discussion will ensue at the end of the session.
