$100,000 Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad grant awarded to CMES

The University of Arizona Center for Middle Eastern Studies has received a $100,000 Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad grant for a 2021 teachers' curriculum development program to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Co-led by MENAS professor, Dr. Austin O'Malley, and CMES Director of Educational Outreach, Dr. Lisa Adeli, the program will focus on Persianate cultures in Central Asia and their interaction with the region's Turkic cultures.
